It is with great satisfaction that we present today a very ambitious project of the British IMF tycoon. The floor reference monitors with the respectable massive body are finished in exotic veneer. Masks in black color are very tasteful.

IMF REFERENCE STANDARD MK IV are specially designed as outstanding laboratory devices for use in the evaluation of software and auxiliary devices. No commercial compromises were introduced at the design stage, no aesthetic considerations adversely affected the design or construction. The result is a truly faithful and ruthless speaker system that provides the listener with maximum information about the source material being delivered.

IMFs are made in matched mirror pairs made with loudspeakers going down inwards to obtain an oblique distribution of poles, away from the walls, so that the listener receives maximum direct information, definitely less mixed with reflections. Despite their large size, the monitors are designed for use on special alloys. They ensure that the boxes are separated from the floor, reducing coloring elements in the room, as well as with proper phase coherence at high frequencies. As a result, they raise the speakers to the correct hearing level. New techniques and suppression materials were used in the construction of the transmission line system. Initially, the housing is lined with a dense non-stick material, whose heterogeneous matrix ensures an optimal protective interface. Acoustic foam, used in anechoic chambers, is specially profiled to obtain the effect of maximum use of space, while providing a minimum reduction. The separate central chamber is closed, the standing wave is gradually absorbed by long wool.

An extremely well-developed crossover system is located behind the panel at the bottom of the front grille. In addition to adapting the audio spectrum to the correct phase and amplitude of the relationship for each drive unit, pre-set controls are provided to align the speakers with the acoustic environment.

An extensive transmission line system ensures increased bass quality with extremely low timbre. The IMF MK IV has the lowest distortion characteristics compared to any speaker system produced. This, together with the achievements in terms of maximum phase compliance, gives a set with excellent neutrality. Professionals and audiophiles will particularly appreciate what allows for a very positive assessment of the quality of the signal delivered without unnecessary addition to the character of the sound of the speakers.

The monitors presented to us played on many units, also on the not very powerful Pioneer SA-7800 amplifier from our offer, which is distinguished by very low harmonic distortion of 0.009% and power of 80 W at 4 Ohm. On the amplifier with these parameters the monitors sounded impressive, giving you a sense of how much potential they still have in them. The perfectly clear, stereo bass descent at 17 Hz is deeply felt, the deep bass foundation positively determines the whole sound with warm analogue characteristics, we were accompanied by great vocals by Eric Clapton and sensational Muddy Waters, upper crystal registers, without sharpening, I always appreciate multi-way sets, but here in terms of sound it was a real feast for the ears, a unique set for an extremely demanding listener, the second one we will not do any more, too difficult in technique, but I heartily recommend this purchase ...
