Vintage Högtalarna
KEF Celeste was the first ultra-compact speaker system designed to provide high quality sound combined with good sensitivity and high power. Its introduction in 1962 revolutionized the whole concept of bookshelf speakers, and many thousands of Celests were sold around the world - its wonderful features are praised by musicians, enthusiasts and technicians.
Celeste's unique features include a very smooth frequency response, transparency and a wide dispersion of high tones that set it apart from all other speakers of comparable size and price.
Two speakers were used to cover the entire audio frequency range, the iconic B139 bass driver also used in the IMF and the T15 tweeter, both with a unique design and responsible for exceptional system performance. The B139 membrane was formed from expanded polystyrene with laminated aluminum foil on the front and back surfaces. The T15 tweeter used a Melinex semicircular membrane to smoothly radiate high frequencies with wide dispersion up to over 20 kHz. Both units were integrated at a frequency of 1 kHz with a cross-circuit board.
Crates finished with mahogany veneer
The Mark 2 version was released in 1966 with the latest versions of the B139 and T15 power units, and the system remained in production until 1972.

For testing, we used the Toshiba SA-7100, this is a high model receiver from the golden era of vintage. A unique vintage receiver in a personalized housing made of multilayer wood, beautiful American walnut veneer, a perfect multilayer varnish coating, a real masterpiece of carpentry!, Is a high model in the series, very well made, all aluminum knobs, engraved. Low distortion at high power, great frequency response. All lighting was replaced with trouble-free LED, beautifully colored, natural colors of the scale and all indicators were obtained, even the rod-shaped place marker on the scale has a tiny, clearly shining marker The effect is stunning, and at the same time very natural. The 25 mm thick wood receiver looks extremely dignified, I highly recommend this only device in the world. In the configuration with Kefami we have obtained a very interesting, complementary sound. Objective monitors are also great with a tube amplifier.
The Toshiba SA-7100 was used for listening to the exceptional Kefs in question, also completely finished in exotic wood, including the back wall. In this configuration we were positively surprised by the expression of well-controlled bass. It is perfectly tuned with the tweeter, not without reason used in many The high resolution of the tweeter impresses with the high naturalness of the sound, in which one could feel the noble note of the classic sound of the distinguished Rogers LS3 / 5A.
To sum up - outstanding, classic, English playing, for the enthusiasts the windfall is incredible ....
