McIntosh MA 6100 is an integrated amplifier from 1975. The stereophony of exemplary clear, catalog bass descent at 23 Hz is deeper, the deep bass foundation in a positive way determines the whole sound with a warm analogue characteristic, accompanied by we have great Eric Clapton's vocals and sensational Muddy Waters, upper crystal registers, no sharpeners, I always appreciate multi-way sets, but here it was a real feast for the ears, a unique set for an extremely demanding listener, the second one we will not do anymore, difficult in the technique , but I heartily recommend this purchase .... It's really hard to write about the sound of this set, because it corresponds at least with a few sets that have been hosted so far, but they are gone .... Each subsequent disc in the player is a jaw drop. Reference recordings which we know almost by heart provide further admiration and discoveries. The opinions about the IMF that can be found on the web are confirmed, and I will add that they are only superlatives. The first thing that comes to mind is the extraordinary transparency, neutrality and lack of restrictions in the reproduction of the sound image. One of the first albums we've listened to today is the Dark Side of he moon - Pink Floyd. It is not known from today that recordings of this group are characterized by unbelievable even attention to detail and are registered perfectly, which our set only confirmed. During the listening session you can completely lose yourself. The IMF showed in full the momentum with which David Gilmour and his companions made this album. Realism and dynamics simply knock you to your knees. We had similar impressions listening to an acoustic record, ie "Unplugged" by Eric Clapton. The reverbs and the color of instruments at the highest level. IMF is building a great scene full of details. You can easily locate the apparent sound sources that appear away from the speakers. The effect is thundering. No band is overly exposed. The sound is completely natural, which allows the listener to get the impression of direct contact with the musicians. The next recording we enjoyed was "Ray Brown with the All-Star Big Band". So the climates are completely different. This jazz album recorded in 1962 could be a great example of craftsmanship for contemporary sound engineers. What a moment! These are already extreme genres.
